NSS

NSS: National Service Scheme was the dream project launched in the year 1969 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India. The concept of NSS is based on ideology of the Shri Mahatma Gandhi ji, hon’ble ‘Father of the Nation’.
The ultimate aim of NSS is to focus on improvement of personality of the youths and to coordinate their abilities towards the social engineering of the nation. The affiliating university has called the NSS an education & service based scheme and as a noble experiment in academic expansion. which includes the spirit of voluntary work among the student’s/teachers through sustained community interaction, to combine knowledge and action, which gives maximum exposure and experience to help the youth to find avenues of self-employment. Eventually it is an idea of helping the Govt. and Non-Govt. organizations to achieve their goal in National development.
The National service Scheme (N.S.S.) unit of the Institute has started functioning from the academic year 2005-2006 with intake of 120 students. The NSS activities are managed and monitored through the NSS Programme officer. NSS department organizes activities like celebration of important days, street plays, AIDS awareness campaigns, wall posters etc.
Another important feature of this scheme is; the ‘Adoption of Village’ to promote the awareness campaigns at grass root level. The village is adopted for three consecutive years and seven days NSS camp is organized annually in the month of December and January. The hygienic and cleanliness programmes, social awareness programmes, women empowerment, health and green practices are some best practices done by the students along with the involvement of villagers.
The institution feels very proud to announce that adopted villages have been declared as ‘Nirmal Gram’ under ‘Sant Gadgebaba Swach Bharat Abhiyaan’ by the Govt. of Maharashtra. Besides this, the adopted villages has also won the many prizes at district and state level in ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyaan’.

Achievements :

• Principal Dr. A. T. Patil has worked as advisor on NSS advisory board of the university for term 2012-2014.
• Shri G.G. Thorat, former NSS Programmee officer of the college was appointed as District NSS coordinator by the affiliating university for the term 2012-2014.
• Shri B.V. Gavit, former NSS Programmee officer of the college was appointed as Tehsil NSS coordinator by the affiliating university for the term 2012-2014.
• Dr. Vishal Karpe , P.O. NSS and Smt. Rupali Bagul, Assiatant P.O. of the college was appointed as managers, NSS unit of Nandurbar District to participate in state level NDRF training program ‘ Avhaan - 2016’ at SP University, Pune.
• Adopted Village i.e. Nangipada has secured the 2nd rank in Nandurbar district under the Sant Gadgebaba Swach Bharat Abhiyaan -2017’.
• Another adopted village i.e. Antipada has secured 1st rank in Nandurbar district and also secured 2nd rank in Nasik Division under the Nirmal Gram scheme of the Govt. of India

Volunteers Participation at Out stations :

• ‘National Integration Camp’ in the year 2016, at Jaypur, Rajsthan.
• State Level Disaster management Camp ‘Avhan , 2016’ organized by NDRF and Savitribai Fule Pune University, Pune.
• SamtaVidhyarthi Sammelan organisd by affiliating university to increase the awareness about cast discrimination on 6th & 7th Fenruary, 2016.
• District Level Elocution Competition organised by Maharashtra Andhsradha Nirmulan Samity, Shahada on 8th October, 2017.
• Republic Day Parade in district headquarter.
• State Level Disaster management Camp ‘Avhan , 2018’ organized by NDRF and Dr. BAM University, Aurangabad.
